Based on the design language of the original NMD and NMD S1, adidas Originals and Humanrace earlier launched the new NMD S1 RYAT, a boot inspired by hiking and mountaineering, and hiking, stemming from Pharrell Williams’ love for the outdoors. NMD S1 RYAT Black featured in a film shot by director Gabriel Moses, exploring the concept of community and unity by showing boots as part of a modern uniform. Additionally, Pharrell designed clothing for the Humanrace Premium Basics Fall/Winter 2022 collection. The project also collaborated with famous illustrator GANGBOX to release a new set of illustrations in an attempt to interpret boots as totems in the post-apocalyptic world.
Every design element and detail of the NMD S1 RYAT strives to reflect functionality. The upper is made of premium suede and leather overlays, a rubber TPU construction and toe cap for added practicality, while being built with a BOOST midsole and a durable clover-shaped outsole to provide excellent underfoot cushioning and grip. The adidas Originals x Humanrace NMD S1 RYAT Black shoes are priced at $1,899 and will be sold on the CONFIRMED app and designated offline channels on October 15.
