Objects IV Life, a clothing brand created by contemporary American artist Daniel Arsham, officially launched this season MACHINE-A Shanghai flagship store. This is also the first offline presentation of Objects IV Life in mainland China. Objects IV Life was co-founded by Daniel Arsham and Tomorrow Group CEO Stefano Martinetto. Daniel extended his idea of artistic creation to costume design, reviving materials with a strong imprint of time in the future world of current archaeology.
Objects IV Life wanted to create a more creative and uniform wardrobe with basic clothing. All garments are designed by studios in New York and London, produced in Portugal and Los Angeles, and the metal fittings on the garments are custom-made in Italy. The denim fabric is washed and worn, and the recycled metal is polished to show mottled marks. The current Chapter 001 series includes functional outerwear, such as work jackets, denim jackets, cotton twill hoodies, and cotton twill shirt jackets. There are three styles of jeans: wide leg, straight, and loose fit, and there are a variety of colors to choose from, such as light pink, pink blue, turquoise, and coal. Additionally, the collection includes accessories such as canvas rectangular handbags, steel-headed military boots, hats and keys, as well as T-shirts and hoodies.
Meanwhile, during Shanghai Contemporary Art Week, MACHINE-A’s flagship store in Shanghai also collaborated with Objects IV Life by Daniel Arsham to present a month-long artistic creative project. Through the perspective of Objects IV Life, combined with the rich blue hues of the series, Daniel Arsham’s ethereal Zen mini garden is displayed in a variety of forms in the Machine-A Shanghai store.
